Milling a large piece of oak out Derby.
After the tree was taken down due to uprooting the property and the customer didn't want to see the timber go to waste as firewood and no possible way of removing the timber from the garden.
These oak boards have been cut into 2 1/2" boards ready for a dinning room and furniture throughout the house.
So that the tree can live on in their property.
Cutting this gorgeous burred Elm stem for a local sawmill out Banbury.
Due to the sawmill not finding time we were called in to sort this piece out and cut into 3" thick boards.
Following on from the Elm stem over at the sawmill we got called to cut more of it, and couldn't turn out the chance due to the gorgeous timber within
After the local tree surgeons felled the beech tree. Located outside the main house of Lamport Estate we came in to mill the stem into boards for the estate to use inside the building, cut to a solid 3" thick piece these will give plenty of room for planing and sanding to really make them into special pieces around the house and property that Lamport
After two large cedar trees had been felled for future development plan, we got the go ahead on recycling the timber before it would have been broken down into chipable pieces and chipped for biomass . Saving these two massive trees from complete death.
After 5 days of non stop cutting we had all the usable timber cut into boards.
This stunning yew became uprooted after a storm and the private homeowner was determined to see the timber be used for something else other than firewood and wood chipping like to many trees . So we came into the mix of making some 2" thick boards from all of the wood available. That being said yew wood on the inside looks
Walnut crotch that has some lovely heartwood and will turn into stunning table tops at 2 1/2" giving room for planing sanding and oiling in the future. Walnut timber being such a stunning pattern we didn't just mill the main stem we worked right down to around 1ft wide pieces for shelving to go along side these table sized pieces.
We had the pleasure of milling this massive lump of cedar for a tree surgeon down in woking area. At a massive 5ft wide and 14ft long it really was a monster piece.
This softwood will be perfect for outside tables being pest resistant due to the properties of the wood and at 2 1/2" slabs I'm sure they will make a great finished project.

These 12ft long and over 4ft wide boards were cut I to 2 3/4" boards for large table tops, with stunning grain and patterns in the wood we was so lucky to have the pleasure of doing this.
Stunning little Elm tree we had the pleasure of milling turned out nicely.
While not the biggest thing we have ever milled Elm is always a nice looking timber and with some great colours we are glad the customer was happy with the results.
Redwood being a softwood is always so smooth and great to cut. These long slabs being 14ft long and 4ft wide, showed the stunning pattern of the grain.
Being cut at 2.5" leaving room for sanding and planing by the customer.
While the weather was well into the 30degrees, we cracked on getting this old piece of oak cut up into some stunning 2.5" boards for future dining room
Huntingdon beech tree we have milled into 2 1/4 thick planks for the rusticwood barn.
These will be future stock for the shop they have.

Here at j&m Timbers we have been working along side Tree surgeons for a long time now, however Billy at evoke tree services is one of the originals to ask us to mill his timber.
After getting the return call to come cut some more for him, it's always nice to see old faces.
This small Ash lump had great grain and was definitely worth cutting into nice thick boards for future chopping boards.
A new customer after emailing about a beech tree in the garden that needed to be removed and asking if we would be interested in milling the timber. We packed our stuff and headed straight down to the property.
He wasn't wrong it was a stunning piece of timber and the customer was very happy with the end results, along with the stump being cut down and have some large round boards for the garden.
We get lots of calls about developments happening on new properties and builders and home owners wanting to make some money back from the outlay of tree removals.
This was no different all the timber was left on site for us to mill into boards and then sold onto a local sawmill.
